De Singel ‘opening nieuwe vleugel’
•oktober 5, 2010 • 1 reactieZaterdag en zondag 2 en 3 oktober 2010 was het ‘ open deur’ in DE SINGEL in Antwerpen, de Internationale Kunst Campus. Een gelegenheid om niet te missen om een paar foto’s te nemen van de nieuwe aanbouw .
Ik zal bij de foto’s mijn mening geven over het nieuwe gedeelte, … dus zeer persoonlijk en misschien in de toekomst niet meer van toepassing… ( lees en kijk verder)
Dus bekijk alles maar relatief en misschien zal de binnenkant nog voor verandering vatbaar zijn.
om het met muzikale termen te benoemen een Perpetuum Mobile !
Deze evolutie kan ook een vorm van Kunst zijn ! 
‘DE SINGEL’ the International Art Campus in Antwerp has a new wing to complement the existing infrastructure, also a new space for the school, a warm nest to create and stimulate new creations. Saturday and Sunday, October 2nd and 3th 2010 was the ‘Open Door’ for the public, an opportunity not to miss for taking some pictures of the new building.
I will also write some impressions or opinion for the building along with the photos, but this is my own interpretation, so very personal and perhaps in the futur it does not apply anymore …as they maybe will use a finishing touch to the new wing !
So look at it as a Perpetual Motion and maybe some improvements will come to the new annex.
This evolution can also be a kind of Art !
De gevels van de nieuwe aanbouw bestaan uit Lariks houten latten met hier en daar een geschilderde versie.

The facade consist of Larix wooden slats , some parts are painted versions.

‘Het Kroonjuweel’ het enige luxueuze accent in het Singel Café.

Veel witte muren en rood tapijt….sommige trappen zijn niet erg gebruiksvriendelijk ,
te hoog en te kort voor iemand met grote voeten maar je kan altijd de lift nemen natuurlijk

some staircases have very short steps for people with big feet, but you can always take the elevator
wat je vertikaal ziet….

zou even goed horizontaal kunnen zijn …(fotografisch grapje van mij, zie persoon)

de afwerking is niet tot in het detail ook veel glaswerk aan de binnenkant
het geeft een industrieel gevoel door de vele trappen en overlopen in die metalen stijl
met veel neonlicht

the final touch is not very detailed , a lot of glass parts on the inside
gives you an industrial feeling, with the many steps and walkways in this metalic style and neon lights
alle binnenmuren zijn wit, ook in de grote hallen, een voorzichtige oplossing en zeer neutraal,
hier zou wat meer kleur en fantasie niet misstaan,
nu is het een wit canvas dat nog vele mogelijkheden heeft om de architectuur te ondersteunen.

now it is a blank canvas and has a lot of potential to support the architecture.
de architectuur is knap gedurfd en doordacht, met een goede aansluiting met het oudere gedeelte,
de schuine steunmuren aan de vensters zijn zeer mooi, openheid naar de buitenwereld zeer geslaagd… maar binnen mist het nog een beetje ziel en afwerking, hopelijk zal het zijn eigen sfeer en stempel krijgen van de bezoekers en de gebruikers van het nieuwe complex !
Dit is wat ik ervan denk , maar wie ben ik

•september 30, 2010 • Geef een reactieTheater fotografie is niet zo evident, het gekleurde licht, dikwijls ontoereikend voor je camera met een telelens, ISO op maximum(1600) en dan het diafragma op het kleinste getal en met een trage sluitertijd, bewegende (dansende) mensen proberen te fotografen…
… dan kom je soms tot grappige en verrassende resultaten… maar ik noem ze “Bloopers” en geloof me, ik heb al een grote leuke collectie !

Theater photography is not so evident, the colored light, often insufficient for your camera with telelens, then the ISO to maximum(1600), aperture to the smallest number and with a low shutter speed trying to capture moving (dancing) people…
…then you get sometimes funny surprising results … “Bloopers” I call them and believe me, I already have a big nice collection !

Tall Ship Races in Antwerpen 2010
•juli 11, 2010 • 2 reactiesThe Tall Ship Races zijn weer te gast in Antwerpen na 4 jaar ! Een goede gelegenheid om het zwoele avondweer te trotseren om wat pré evenement foto’s te gaan nemen.
Dit weekend worden er bijna één miljoen toeschouwers verwacht… echt niet ideaal voor fotografie tussen al dat volk , dus trokken wij erop uit met camera en statief de zwoele nacht tegemoet
Nachtfotografie is voor mij ook weer een uitdaging want van die discipline ken ik dan ook heel weinig. Maar oefening baart kunst , nietwaar ?
The Tall Ship Races are in Antwerp again after 4 years ! A good opportunity to go into the heat of the night to make a pré event fotoshoot.
This weekend they expect 1 million people , not really ideal for taking pictures between all those people, so we went with our camera and tripod into the heat of the night.
This was also a challenge for me because I do not know this discipline of night- photography very well.
But doing is learning , isn’t it ?
